I picked this little beauty up in duty free just over a month ago, and I have been using it so much. It’s perfect for both day and night. This little quad contains all the shadows you need to create beautiful sunset eye looks. The lightest shade is the perfect highlighter for the inner corner and under the brow bone. The light gold shade gives a beautiful wash of colour to the lid while the darker gold creates depth for a contour in the crease. The darkest shade is great for lining and adding more definition in the outer corner and crease. Of course you could play around with the shades for lots of different looks; the darkest shade is a gun metal grey that would be great all over the lid with a black liquid eyeliner flick. I know they look a bit glittery or sparkly in the pictures but on the finish is more metallic than glittery.
All four go on sheer but can be built up to more pigmented colour. They are all soft and creamy and easy to blend. Wear time is also really good but since I have oily lids I always use a primer, so far I haven’t lasted longer than the eye shadows when worn over MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. There is a little bit of fall out when applying, nothing that actually bothers me but it’s not something I have ever noticed with MAC shadows before but I suppose you do usually always have some fall out with shimmery shadows. There isn’t any fall out during wear though.
Here is a soft day time look; I used the shades as I said above, the lightest one as a highlighter, the light gold on the lid, the darker gold in the crease and the darkest shade in the outer corner and to line the top and bottom. I gently went under the bottom liner with the light gold.
