Well it’s been another beautiful week of sunshine and warm temperatures and it looks set to continue next week too; woohoo! Spring is finally here so it’s time to break out the softer colours and lighter layers.
This beautiful baby pink waterfall blazer is from the brand Pala D’oro from Carraig Donn. This blazer has a lovely loose and flowy shape as well as a soft crepe texture. Its light enough that I won’t be sweltering if I wear it on summer nights out but it’s warm enough for now as well. The colour is a perfect pastel for this time of year; it really gives a spring time feel. Baby pink is a colour that I’m not that bothered about myself, but I always get loads of compliments on how the colour suits me when I wear it.
The top is old and it’s from H & M. There are loads of similar style tops in the shops now; there was even a very similar one with long sleeves in Carraig Donn. The high neck and lace details makes this top really pretty, especially paired with this jacket. But this top could also have a festival or boho vibe if it was worn with denim cut off shorts or a floral maxi skirt or anything with fringing.
The jeans are the Erin Jeggings from River Island. I recently sang their praises in this post so I won’t bang on about them again here, except to say that I still love them.
The nude shoes are Kate Appleby for Knightsbridge.
The necklace is also from Carraig Donn. I live in a small town with a large Carraig Donn; I love going for a little wander around in there. I very rarely leave empty handed.
Are you wearing paler colours yet? What’s your favourite pastel?
Last week I told you there would be more lime and here it is. Sorry but this post will be a short one because I spent my evening doing this:
If you too would like to be a domestic goddess and make After Eight flavoured cupcakes then here is the link to the recipe that I used. I’ll let the clothes do the talking, I’m sure you will be most disappointed that you don’t have to read my long winded rambles.
This cute lime cardigan is from Penneys, where else. The little diamonte buttons add to its cuteness factor.
This floral print top is from H & M and you may have seen it in this previous post where I paired it with blue. The jeans are my old faithful black skinnies from Dorothy Perkins.
These boots are from the Amy Huberman range for Bourbon footwear. Fingers crossed it will be only a few more weeks before I can wear cute little pumps again.
I picked this necklace up in Carraig Donn. I like blue and lime together, which you will see more of in an upcoming post.
So the big question is, will you be baking mint and chocolate cupcakes or wearing lime?
Well the festivities were in full swing this weekend and are all set to continue for the coming few weeks. Saturday was all go for me. I was at a christening for my new baby niece during the day and then met up with some friends in the evening who were on the 12 pubs of Christmas. I started out the day looking classy in monochrome with gold accents and finished it a bit worse for wear in a Christmas jumper.
The blazer with gold zips is from Penneys. This cream lace top is from H & M. The lace skirt is from Awear and you can see it here and here in previous posts. These gold studded pumps are from New Look and I bought the necklace in Portugal.
The eye look:
Crease: Max Factor, Ferocious Black
Lid and Crease: Max Factor Feral Brown (over the black to soften it)
Lid: Lancôme Fil D’ Or (over the brown, which adds warmth to the yellowness of the gold)
Liner: Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bronze
Mascara: Lancôme Virtuous
I love black and gold for Christmas nights out, what’s your go to party look?
Sorry the pictures aren’t great because I was a bit rushed.
So today I am rocking a bright blue blazer from Mango. The moment I saw it I knew I had to have it; however, it was one of those tortured purchases. You know the ones I mean; it’s when you really want it but on the other hand you’re not sure you’ll really wear it much. There are loads of things in my wardrobe that I had to have but then hardly ever wear but can’t bring myself to get rid of either. I’m determined that won’t happen with this blazer and so I actively seek purchases that will go with it. (Like the Awear dress in this post).
I knew when I saw this top in H&M it would look good with the blazer, but the watercolour style floral print will work with so many other things that I already have. I think I will be wearing this top a lot over the spring and summer. I love the colours and the neckline of this top and the soft jersey draped fabric is a flattering cut, even if I do say so myself.
The necklace is from Carraig Donn and has been previously seen in this post and this one.
The jeans are from New Look and the shoes are Oasis. I have been looking for nude wedge heel courts for a while now and jumped to buy these the minute I saw them. I have a feeling I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of these, as the wedge makes them prefect for daytime and nude shoes work with, well nearly everything (except black tights, that is). Oh the zebra print insole is my own addition, not too many of my shoes are without some sort of additional padding.
