I wasn’t going to write this review because I don’t like to do negative reviews. I’m naturally a positive person and for me blogging should be fun and I don’t like reading or writing negative posts. Unfortunately, constantly going on about how wonderful everything is won’t do much for my credibility. Also I think it’s important to tell you why I don’t like a product so you can decide for yourself whether it may or may not be suitable for you and hopefully save you from spending your hard earned cash on a product that won’t meet your needs or wants. Now that I am in my thirties, I have learned from a few, ok lots of mistakes along the way. I fairly comfortable with what suits my colouring and I am pretty confident at choosing products to work for my combo to oily skin. Although dehydrated and oily is presenting a new challenge. I’m not the biggest blog on the block so I don’t receive many PR samples and I always try to do some research before I buy, which is why my posts are relatively positive.
I received this 3.0g sample size of Benefit’s It’s Potent Eye Cream from a friend that works on a makeup counter in a department store that doesn’t sell Benefit. A rep was in and gave them all a few samples to try and she passed this one on to me. Not sure what she is hinting at. The little jar is really cute. Let me just say that I love Benefit’s packaging and names. The quirky sense of humour of the brand really makes me want to love everything. The lip glosses and Box O’ Powders are brilliant, but I just don’t seem to get along with anything else from the brand.
Admittedly It’s Potent is aimed at a slightly younger age group but it promises to help fade dark circles and smooth fine lines, both of which I have. Not sure these are major concerns for many ladies in their late teens and early twenties. I like the texture of the cream and it sinks in quickly enough but that is where the positives end for me. I’ve been using it for about six weeks now and notice absolutely no difference. Under my eyes is as dark and creepy as ever if not more so. I know that the improvements from skincare products usually tend to be subtle but I expect to see some results.
