In case you haven’t noticed, I have very straight and fine hair. Over the years I have tried loads of volumising products. Generally one of three thing happen: 1) nothing at all, 2) my hair ends up sticky and gross, or the best case scenario is 3) my hair is left a bit more lightweight and bouncy appearing slightly more voluminous but it’s not really. Now I am not looking for 80s power shoulder big hair. Apparently everyone and their mother still wants the soft and voluminous Kate and Pippa style blow-dry. I’m saying nothing and I’m definitely not admitting to anything. I just want my hair to look a bit healthier and fuller and most importantly, swishy.
Recently I was sent a few products from the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Range to try. With the warm weather of late I’ve just been putting my hair in a pony-tail every day so I couldn’t wait to actually style my hair. I hate when I get stuck in a bit of a rut but there is nothing like a new product to give you a bit of a lift. There are six products in the range: Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner, Volume Building Mousse, Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster, Volume Refresh Dry Shampoo, and Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray, all of which retail at €6.31 each. I was given sample sizes of the Shampoo, Conditioner and the Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray to play with.
The promise from the Luxurious Volume collection is “full-bodied, salon-quality style even on fine, flat hair, whilst leaving it feeling natural and supple”. First off, I really like the scent of these: it’s clean and fresh but don’t worry the scent is soft so no need to have the asthma inhaler close to hand. You may have noticed that I am a sucker for nicely scented products. My hair definitely was left feeling “natural and supple”: absolutely no hint of stickiness. In my opinion, the products I have do live up to the promise.
The Shampoo and Conditioner did a great job of cleansing and moisturizing my hair. They are lovely to use even without any of the after styling products and left my hair lightweight, bouncy and swishy. I have to say that I really liked the Fine to Full Blow-Out spray. You spray it all over wet hair. As a fine headed lady I always blow dry my hair upside down (it’s a rule), usually with little effect but with the spray, my hair is left with more volume.
When I use all three products my hair has noticeably more body and bounce and it is nice and swishy. My hair looks healthy and fuller, result!
I am interested in trying more products in the range, I think I will pick up the Volume Refresh Dry Shampoo and I will definitely purchase the full sizes of the Shampoo, Conditioner and Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray. I really do like them that much. Will you be trying anything in the range?
I bought this shampoo the other day and I like it. I also use the Blonde range.
I like the Blonde range as well, there are some great products for the brand at good prices.
It is shallow to say but I’m sold on the colour of the bottles, great review though!
They are cute, packaging gets me every time too!
This range sounds great!
I’m really liking it!
